Elizabeth Rozin-Golinder to Receive the
2019 Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award

The 2019 winner of the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award is Elizabeth Rozin-Golinder, Esq., who focuses her legal work in the area of Family Law. Elizabeth will be presented with this award on January 22, 2019, at the Middlesex County Bar Association’s Annual Family Law Dinner Meeting, a joint meeting of the Middlesex/Union/Somerset Bar Associations to be held at The Pines Manor in Edison.

Martin S. Goldin, the Chair of the Family Law Section since its inception in 1972, passed away in 2002. Marty was regarded as a fair and reasonable adversary and was renowned for his good nature, collegiality and genuine respect for all members of the bench and bar. Marty took great pleasure in discussing legal issues with newer attorneys and generously gave his time to mentor any attorney who sought his counsel.

In February, 2003, the Family Law Section established the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award, to be presented each year to a Family Law Practitioner who has been engaged in the practice for 15 years or less and who exemplifies those principles by which Marty practiced family law, including:  maintaining a continuous study of past and present case law; making a careful and detailed analysis of each case; presenting the issues and applicable law to clients in a readily understandable manner; attempting to settle issues on a fair and reasonable basis before resorting to litigation; fostering respect and courtesy for the bench and bar; maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism, and exhibiting leadership in the County or State Bar Association.

Elizabeth epitomizes the qualities in a lawyer that were especially important to Marty and which she incorporates into her daily practice. She is a caring and firm advocate for her clients and creates individualized solutions, knowing no two families are the same. Elizabeth listens to her clients’ concerns and makes them comfortable, giving them someone to lean on during their family law matter. She promotes the interests of her clients, settling cases on terms that are fair, while maintaining cordial relationships with her adversaries. Elizabeth strives to take reasonable positions and gives each case her all.  She is collegial and professional in her relationships with judges and other attorneys and demonstrates a diligent work ethic and devotion to family law.

Elizabeth was raised in Edison, New Jersey by her parents who immigrated to the Unites States in the late 1970s. Being the first generation in her family born in the Unites States Elizabeth did not learn to speak English until she started school. Her parents often told her that she had the choice of being a doctor or a lawyer, as being a professional singer was not an option. Physics and chemistry were never her forte, so law school it was.

Elizabeth graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Women’s Studies. She earned her Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston. While in law school she worked in the family law clinic.

Elizabeth has dedicated her career to the exclusive practice of Matrimonial & Family Law. Upon graduating from law school, she returned to New Jersey and began working for a family law firm in New York City. After two years in New York she moved to a family law firm in Bergen County before ultimately making Middlesex County her home in 2013. She proudly opened her own firm, Rozin | Golinder Law, LLC in 2016.

As a member of the MCBA, Elizabeth has been active in family law matters and has presented several CLE programs for the Association. She is a voting member of the Family Law Executive Committee and also a Trustee of the Association and Foundation. Elizabeth volunteers her time as an Early Settlement Panelist in Middlesex County and has completed the training necessary to become a R. 1:40 Qualified Mediator. She has been selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star each year since 2016.

Elizabeth and her husband, Vladimir Golinder, reside in Colts Neck, with their three children, Grant (5), Harrison (3), and Tessa (1). When she is not lawyering, managing her firm or being a professional chauffeur / entertainer for her children, Elizabeth enjoys practicing for the annual County Bar Karaoke Wars.
