2016 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year

Edward Testino, Esq.

Ed Testino is a very busy solo. He runs a law practice in Old Bridge where he handles general litigation, real estate, wills &estates, contracts, and he appears before municipal boards, commissions, and administrative forums. He is also General Counsel for the Housing Authorities of Perth Amboy and Rahway; Assistant County Counsel for Middlesex County; and General Counsel for the Middlesex County Joint Insurance Fund. His experience includes serving as Perth Amboy Municipal Prosecutor, attorney for South River Zoning Board, Borough of Keyport Special Counsel, General Counsel for the Housing Authority of the Borough of Highlands, and Special Counsel to Borough of Sayreville. And he served for many years on the Old Bridge Town Council.

In addition to his practice, Ed is active in Rotary.  He teaches continuing legal education courses and lectures at trade associations on legal topics.

In addition to all these things, Ed serves as a pro bono attorney for Central Jersey Legal Services. CJLS provides free legal assistance to very low income residents of Middlesex, Union and Mercer Counties in Civil Matters. With limited staffing, CJLS relies on private attorneys to take pro bono cases to help fill the gap and ensure justice for as many as possible. Ed is always willing to take another case and provides high quality pro bono representation. Whether it’s a Guardianship or a divorce, CJLS clients are thrilled with the quality of Ed’s representation, how well they are treated, and of course, with the result. Ed is a tremendous help to CJLS and their clients.

Ed was previously recognized with the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his contributions to the work of the Rotary. He was Editor in Chief and Managing Editor of the Law Review at Oklahoma City University School of Law, and was awarded an LLM in Securities Regulation from Georgetown. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Outside the office, Ed enjoys snowboarding, gardening and reading a good book on the beach. He is the proud father of Justin, Ryan, Jacqueline and Tyler.
