Philip Nettl, Esq.

Benedict & Altman - New Brunswick

Philip Nettl is an associate at Benedict and Altman.  He is a two-time graduate of Rutgers, having received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University, and his law degree from Rutgers Law School-Camden.  He joined the firm directly from law school in 2004.

Phil has substantial experience as both a trial and appellate lawyer. His first trial experience came as second chair in a capital murder trial, where he assisted Joseph Benedict, Esq. Since then, he has conducted solo jury trials in both state and federal courts.  He also has briefed and argued numerous appeals, and he coordinates the firm's appellate practice.

Phil is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, Middlesex County Bar Association, and New Brunswick Bar Association.

Phil has been named multiple times in New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine as a "Rising Star" in the field of Criminal Defense. He is a Part-Time Lecturer at Rutgers University in the Criminal Justice Program. He is President of the New Brunswick Bar Association, Vice Chair of the District VIII (Middlesex County) Ethics Committee and a member of the Supreme Court Committee on Model Jury Charges.
