Program Summary:

  • The history of ethics and standards in early American attorney advertising from 1816 through the early 1900's
  • The crusade to end all attorney advertising beginning in 1907 through Bates v. Arizona.
  • Bates v. Arizona and its progeny - a contextual review of Supreme Court decisions, Ethics Opinions and secondary sources
  • Ethics and standards in contemporary attorney advertising - what today's attorneys need to know

This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 2.0 qualify as hours of credit towards ethics/professionalism. (Please note that Approved CLE Courses in NJ are Recognized for CLE Credit in New York.)
