This program will focus on how defense attorneys, prosecutors and Judges impact DWI cases from summons to resolution:

  • Who is the defendant and how that may impact the case
  • What motions should be considered and how should they be made
  • Demanding discovery : understanding where to go with specific demands appropriate to DWI cases
  • Crucial nature of timely discovery demands
  • Crucial nature of supplying discovery by the Prosecutor
  • Crucial nature of Court supervision throughout the discovery production process
  • Preparing for plea or trial after identifying goals
  • Trying the DWI case
  • Putting through the DWI pleas

This seminar will look at the inner workings of the process that starts with the inception of a DWI complaint and results with a disposition of that complaint. It looks at all of the nuances that culminate in the ultimate resolution in a DWI matter. It is recommended for anyone who undertakes to represent a defendant in Municipal Court for a DWI charge.

This program has been approved by the BCLE of the Supreme Court of NJ for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit, including 2.0 credits towards municipal court certification, and meets Regulation 201:2 for newly admitted attorneys. (Recognized for CLE Credit in NY.)


Cost: $10-Law Clerks; $30-Young Lawyers; $40-MCBA Members; and $75 for All Others
