Joanne Vos, Esq.
Maraziti & Falcon, LLP

 

Joanne is a Partner with Maraziti Falcon, LLP with offices in Short Hills. Joanne received a B.A. in Political Science from Montclair State University in 1995 and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1998. She served as Judicial Law Clerk to Hon. Stephen E. Mochary, JSC in Essex County, then became associated with a New Jersey defense firm litigating insurance defense cases. In 2004, Joanne joined Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas in the Toxic Tort/Environmental practice group. In 2007, she joined Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis, LLP in the Real Estate Department, Environmental Practice Group. Thereafter, she became In-House Counsel for JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA where she managed hundreds of foreclosure matters nationwide. Joanne currently concentrates her practice in transactional and environmental law.

Joanne represents clients in both the public and private arenas, having previously served as Special Environmental Counsel to the Township of North Brunswick. She regularly counsels clients with respect to environmental liability and in that role, she drafts and negotiates various types of agreements. She also advises real estate purchasers with regard to Federal and State due diligence requirements and compliance with the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA). Joanne also represents municipalities and redevelopment agencies in redevelopment matters, assessing environmental liabilities and negotiating Redevelopment Agreements.

Joanne is an active member of the New Jersey bar. She has a distinguished history of involvement with the New Jersey Defense Association ("NJDA”) having served as President and then as Chairman of the Board for the 2010-2011 term. She currently serves as MCBA Secretary and looks forward to her continuing leadership duties as an MCBA Officer.

Joanne is committed to teaching and mentoring both students and young lawyers. She has been an Adjunct Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University teaching in the school's Paralegal Program. She has been a volunteer for the New Brunswick Outreach Tutoring Program, and has been a judge for the Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition. In 2004, Joanne received a mayoral appointment to the Hillsborough Youth Services Commission and more recently, Joanne became a Mentor for the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association. She is currently working on a seminar for local college students entitled, "So, You Want to be a Lawyer?” Joanne spends her free time with her 6-year-old daughter, Penelope, her partner, Matt, and Matt’s children, Alex and Catherine. Oh, and the family dog, Pica! (and the cats, horses, guinea pigs, etc., etc., etc.)
