Jeffrey C. Green, Esq.

Among Jeff’s numerous community activities, he has been a Trustee of the Central Jersey Legal Services Corporation (formerly Middlesex County Legal Services Corporation) since 1974, serving as a member of the Executive Committee and was Chairperson of the Board of Directors from 1983 to 1993.  He currently serves on the Nominating Committee and the Grievance Committee of Central Jersey Legal Services. He is an active participant in Central Jersey Legal Services’ pro bono program and has been since 1982, handling well over 50 divorce cases. He’s willing to take the complex case as well as the difficult client.  In addition, he assisted a survivor of Sandy to complete the documents required to settle the estate of her father, who had died as a result of the storm. In 1990 he was awarded the Board Service Award from Legal Services of New Jersey, an award that has since been renamed the "Jeffrey C. Green & Arthur H. Miller Award.”

Jeff is a graduate of Rutgers College (B.A., 1963) and the Rutgers School of Law, Newark (J.D., 1966). He served as a law secretary for Hon. Samuel Convery and Hon. DuBois Thompson in Middlesex County in 1966-67 and was an associate at Toolan, Romond & Burgess in Perth Amboy in 1967-68. He currently practices law with his brother, Terry, at Green & Green in Somerset.

He is a Past President of the Middlesex County Bar Association (1985-86) and has continued to be an active member on the Board of Trustees to date, serving as Chair for many committees and spearheading a variety of efforts along the way. He received the Lawyer Achievement Award in 1992 and the David Pavlovsky "Service to the Bar” Award in 2007, the Association’s two highest honors. He chaired the Lawyer Referral Service Committee for many years and the Pro Bono Committee during the time the Volunteer Attorney Program with Middlesex County Legal Services was created. He also serves as Secretary of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee, and chairs the By-Laws Committee.

Jeff is also a founding member of the Middlesex County Bar Foundation Board of Trustees, which was created in 1991. He was among a small group of bar leaders with a vision to create a local law center adjacent to the Courthouse where the Association could conduct business and the Bar Foundation could develop its charitable endeavors. Jeff has been a Trustee since the Foundation’s inception and served as President during the 1994-95 term.

In addition to Jeff’s remarkable career with the Association and Foundation, he is also very active in other bar associations. As a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association he served as a Board Trustee from 1997 to 2003; was a member of the Pro Bono Committee from 1993 to 1997, serving as Deputy Chair from 1995 to 1997; was a Trustee to the General Practice Section from 1991 to 2000, serving as Secretary from 1996 to 1998 and receiving the General Practitioner of the Year Award in 1997; was a member of the Membership Committee from 1991 to 1993; received the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law’s Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for Middlesex County in 2006; and is a member of the Family Law Section.

Jeff was the Director of the Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1994 and again from 1999 to the present. He has been a member of the Franklin Township Jaycees and served as legal counsel for the New Jersey Jaycees. He is also a member of the Rutgers College Alumni Association where he served as President of the Class of 1963 from 1993 to 1998, and received the Loyal Sons of Rutgers Award in 2000 and the Colonel Henry Rutgers Society Award in 2003. Lastly, he is a member of Temple Beth El of Somerset where he has served as legal counsel since 1974 and serves as Chair of the By-Laws Committee and Co-Chair of the Expansion Committee.

Throughout his significant accomplishments, Jeff has maintained a high standard of integrity and professionalism.
