Sheree Pitchford, Esq.
Sheree is a
graduate (cum laude) of Saint Peter's University and Seton Hall Law School,
(Centennial Scholarship recipient). While in college and law school, Sheree did
internships with the Hudson County Prosecutor's office and with Hon. Frances L.
Antonin, JSC, Criminal Division. Upon law school graduation she served as a law
clerk for Judge Antonin.
her clerkship, Sheree was an assistant county prosecutor in Hudson County from
1998 to 2003 when she transferred to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office.
in handling all aspects of criminal cases from case evaluation, grand jury
presentation to trial as well as leadership potential were recognized early on.
She was promoted to a trial team leader and later section chief for major crimes
and now is section chief for the sex crimes/child abuse unit. She also is a
member of the office's hiring committee and has organized a trial critique
program for assistant prosecutors.
Sheree is co-chair of the Association's criminal practice committee
and as such has formulated seminar programs, recruited speakers and has served
as an informed and effective moderator of several seminars. She has also served as a judge in the moot
bar association achievements aside, what makes Sheree so appropriate to receive
this award is her personal character which reflects so positively on what our
association stands for. She is a shining example of the reality that civility
can easily go hand in hand with effective lawyering. She is fair and balanced, and
always courteous. She is not only
respected and genuinely liked by her peers in the prosecutor's office but by
the criminal court judges and the criminal defense bar.
