Professor Joshi will focus the program on the multifaceted role of race in U.S. History and its enduring legacy on our nation today.
Specifically, audience members will be presented with a narrative that discusses how Supreme Court decisions concerning citizenship, immigration laws and the social milieu contributed to the development of Whiteness in America and how these historical moments continue to shape our nation.
Audience members will leave the session with an overview of the legal and social construction of race.
