The seminar will focus on:

  • Avoiding Conflicts
  • Candor with the Court and Adversary vs. Work Product/Attorney Client Privilege Issue
  • Prepping vs. Coaching a Witness
  • Contacts with Represented Parties or Witnesses
  • What to do When:
    • You know a witness or defendant intends to lie to a judge or jury
    • It comes to your attention that you, your client or your witness has made a material misrepresentation to a judge or jury
    • You are aware of case law or a statute that is contrary to a legal argument you making
    • You are aware of a prior conviction that a sentencing judge is not aware of
    • You are responsible to prosecute a case and know that a victim is refusing to testify - must you tell your adversary?
  • Retainer Agreements

This program has been pre-approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 2.0 qualify as hours of credit towards professionalism/ethics.
