The seminar will focus on the following:

  • Challenging the "so-called" Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and their training
  • What are the short term effects of drugs that Drug Recognition Experts (DRE's) consider?
  • Challenging a drug related DWI
  • What are comorbidities and how do they complicate a DWI assessment?
  • How long are drugs detectable in your system? What is a drug’s "half life?"
  • How to interpret laboratory reports and what they mean relative to being "under the influence"
  • What does State v. Bealor really apply to?

This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 2.0 qualify as hours of credit towards certification in municipal court law. (Please note that Approved CLE Courses in NJ are Recognized for CLE Credit in New York.)
