This presentation explores the various aspects of low speed impact.  An examination of accident reconstruction, vehicle design and biomechanics of this type of crash will be presented.  Case studies, crash tests and medical literature will be reviewed to form the basis for what injuries are consistent with low speed impact, and why certain claimed injuries may not be related to the mishap. 

The following topics will be covered:

  • Accident reconstruction as it relates to the low speed impact
  • Relationship between automobile design and injury in rear impacts
  • Human tolerance of the body
  • Injury analysis
  • Crash test data and pertinent literature
This program has been approved by the BCLE of the Supreme Court of NJ for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 2.0 qualify as hours of credit towards civil trial certification. (Approved CLE Courses in NJ are Recognized for CLE Credit in NY.)
